Gathering Assets
Assets such as graphics, photos, downloadable files and other media will make your sites visually stimulating as well as practically useful for your visitors. When preparing to launch webtreepro as your website platform, begin gathering the various assets that will make your pages compelling to your visitors. Among these items are:
Artwork and Media
Webtreepro will accept uploads of imagery in the .JPG, .GIF and .SWF (Flash) formats. You may upload art and media files up to 15 MB in size. Once available from your library, the image placement tool lets you resize your images, add Alt-Text, wrap your copy around them, add links and more.
Logos
Main corporate logos, alternative logos, product and services logos, official illustrations and other elements that are part of your core design standards. Because logos typically have hard edges, we highly recommend they are used on pages at their native resolution (not resized). You should have several different versions and sizes available.
Photos
If you already own a photo library you can make the images available for use in your Webtreepro pages. You may also secure photographic libraries which relate to your industry and make those available for use on your sites. Using the Global Library, you can make your approved artwork and other imagery available to your child site content managers to ensure they're using appropriate material.
Charts and Graphs
Many offline applications will allow you to create charts and graphs and then save them to illustration formats such as .JPG which are appropriate for webpage presentations. Because charts and graphics typically have hard edges, we highly recommend they are used on pages at their native resolution (not resized). You should have several different versions and sizes available.
Flash Media
Webtreepro supports the uploading, placement and display of flash media on your pages. Add a little motion to your webpages and your sites come to life!
Downloadable Resources
You can make downloads available to your site visitors and you can designate them to be publicly available or restricted to certain authorized viewers. Downloadable files add depth to the information your visitors can access as well as providing a convenient distribution of documents on demand. These are the file types that can be uploaded and made available to your visitors:
- MS Word (DOC and DOCX)
- MS Excel (XLS and XLSX)
- MS PowerPoint (PPT and PPTX)
- Adobe Reader (PDF)
- Zipped Files (ZIP and RAR)
